I write aphorisms for a living. So keeping a blog is just like work, except I don't get paid. Don't expect much here.
Once again, kids/cats... what's the difference?
Au contraire, mon frere. My brother and I absolutely did that when my Dad raised his voice. Then again we were scared shitless of him.
Could be a fear, thing, yes. My daughters know when I'm serious and stop cold in their tracks; but, it doesn't have anything to do with volume.
